Launched as the Celica in 1978, Toyota Supra was a treat for racers with a legacy of its own since its inception. In the year 2020, the car returned 17 years after its last appearance. This is the fifth-generation sports car built from BMW parts in the Austrian factory where BMW Z4 was manufactured. The Toyota Supra that has a badge of GR Supra is Toyota’s brand-new performance car. GR is short for Gazoo Racing where Gazoo stands for garage.

TOYOTA SUPRA 2020 VARIANTS
The full-blooded sports car re-entered the market in 2020 with three powerful trim – 2020 Toyota Supra 3.0, 2020 Toyota Supra 3.0 Premium and 2020 Toyota Supra Launch Edition. All these trims are powered by a BMW-sourced turbocharged 3.0-litre inline-6 engine.
EXTERIOR
Toyota Supra 2020 exterior features are flamboyant, to say the least. With a classic sports car theme, the two-door hatchback was developed after a collaboration between BMW and Toyota Gazoo Racing. Short, wide, and low, the 2020 Toyota Supra defines what a sports car looks like. The shape of this car is a shortened concept of the FT1 concept.
The powerful car stands on 19-inch alloy wheels. Standard Toyota Supra 2020 exterior features include a dual sports exhaust, adaptive LED lights (headlight, taillight and daytime running light), body-coloured details and smart keyless entry.
Other exterior features include rear fog light, auto-dimming rear-view mirrors, power-folding mirrors, rain-sensing wipers, body-coloured door handles, a stylish front grille, and pointed front bonnet.
As for the roof, it is sculpted and flows down to the narrow rear window, the car also has an LED bright light strip at the top.
In the back, right below the Toyota logo, the car’s name “Toyota Supra” is mentioned evidently along with the GR badge, so everyone knows what you’re driving. The car also has formula one inspired brake lights that flash when the car must slow down really fast – but in the Supra these lights will flash when you go in to reverse. The rear arches have strong lines built into them for an extended aesthetic of the car.
INTERIOR
The car with a double-bubble roof has leather seats. The base model comes standard with leather seats, while full leather is standard on the launch edition and premium edition. Naturally, the space in a two-door hatchback isn’t going to be as much as a sedan, however, when compared with other compact models, the space inside Toyota Supra 2020 is on par.
The top of the doors is a smooth long panel starting with a physical lock indicator and levels outs as we move along it. The area under the horizontal panel comes with the lock controls, door release and first speaker from the audio system. Below this is a leather-upholstered armrest, a piano black inlay, the door handle along electric window and mirror controls.
At the bottom of the door, there is a small storage area with the boot lid release button and a second door speaker.
The sill of this compact yet powerful car is made of lightweight aluminium emboss kick plate.
Moving to the steering, it is upholstered in quality exclusive leather that comes with a colour contrast of red and black. The steering’s left side has cruise control system and instrument, volume and voice control to the right.
Then the dashboard, gear and front console is covered in a nicely stitched soft-touch surfaces and carbon-fibre detailing.
Toyota Supra 2020 is a two-door, two-passenger car with no seats in the rear.
STORAGE
Sports cars don’t really come with massive storage options, owing to their compact bodies. Luckily, Toyota Supra 2020 comes with a hatchback cargo area that can fit in some stuff inside. The Supra offers a storage space of 10.1 cubic feet. The shape of the boot is a little awkward with a short length but a decent width. To sum it up, Toyota Supra 2020 is good to carry a golf bag or a few small suitcases, but it isn’t the most practical space for large luggage items.
PERFORMANCE
Variants or Trims | Engine Capacity | Power (hp) | Torque (Nm) | Transmission | Fuel type |
2020 Toyota Supra 3.0 Premium / 2020 Toyota Supra Launch Edition | 3.0 l I-6 | 335 hp | 500 Nm | 8-speed automatic | Petrol |
FUEL EFFICIENCY
Since all trims of Supra GR 2020 come with a 3.0-litre, turbocharged I6 engine, the fuel economy of Toyota Supra 2020 is 9.9 L/100km for city, 7.7 L/100km for highway and 8.9 L/100km combined.
